§ 116. Acquirement of property for school purposes

It is hereby declared that whenever by virtue of any act, public funds have been appropriated or are hereafter appropriated for the Department of Education or the Secretary of Education to carry out any public works for school purposes, or improvements or additions thereto, the Secretary of Education is hereby empowered to acquire by purchase or condemnation, in the name and on behalf of the Commonwealth, any property or rights therein, which in his judgment may be useful, convenient or necessary for carrying out such works.
