This chapter is hereby created with the purpose of limiting the legal liability of any professional, as defined in this chapter, who in the course or as a consequence of modifying or altering assistive technology equipment might inflict damage upon a person with disabilities. Furthermore, it promotes professional participation and creativity while pursuing the wellbeing of persons with disabilities. It also delimits the duties and responsibilities of professionals and persons with disabilities. It shall be an essential requisite to invoke protection under this chapter, to establish that both parties are acting in good faith and that the only purpose of their relationship is to provide and to receive assistive technology equipment, free of charge.
