Rule 6-414 - Notice of Proposed Payment to Personal Representative or Attorney
(a) Scope of Notice. Before making a proposed payment to the personal representative or the attorney for the estate for a claimed debt existing prior to the death of the decedent, the personal representative shall serve a notice on each unpaid creditor who has filed a claim and on each interested person and shall file a copy with the register.
(b) Contents of Notice. The notice shall state the amount of the proposed payment, the basis for the payment in reasonable detail, and a statement that each unpaid creditor and interested person has 20 days after service to file with the court written exceptions and to request a hearing.
(c) Exception. An exception shall be filed with the court within 20 days after service of the notice and shall include the grounds therefor in reasonable detail. A copy of the exception shall be served on the personal representative.
(d) Disposition. If exceptions have been timely filed, the court shall hold a hearing, if requested, and enter an order determining the amount of payment allowed. If exceptions are not timely filed, payment may be made as proposed without further order of court.
