Rule 2 - Law and Motion Day
(a) Monday of each week, except when it is a legal holiday, then Tuesday, shall be law and motion day, unless otherwise directed.
(b) The law and motion calendar in each division shall be posted in the office of the court clerk.
(c) Motions shall be set for hearing on or after the tenth day of filing unless specifically directed otherwise by the court. After the requisite review and determination by the Court Administrator pursuant to Rule 93(b). Rules of the Supreme Court, the clerk shall give notice in writing to all parties of the date and time of the hearing, the division of court in which the motion will be heard, and whether oral argument will be had.
(d) Requests for oral argument may be made in the following words and fashion: (Oral Argument Requested), placed beneath the title of the motion, answering memorandum or memorandum in reply, or by separate document filed with the clerk. If oral argument is not requested, the court shall decide the matter without it being called on the calendar.
(e) Oral argument shall be limited to five minutes each side, which time shall not be exceeded without permission of the judge in advance of the hearing. Proceedings requiring more than ten minutes total time shall be scheduled at some time other than on the law and motion calendar. It is the responsibility of counsel to advise the court of proceedings that will exceed the time limitations.

The former Local Rules of Practice for Cochise County, Rule II, Law and Motion Day, adopted June 22, 1987, effective September 1, 1987, was abrogated by order dated March 10, 1992, effective March 21, 1992. See now this section.
