Section 141-58-15 - The National Guard Association of West Virginia Trophy Match

The National Guard Association of West Virginia Trophy will be awarded annually to the member of the West Virginia National Guard who is the match winner in competition with .22 caL center-fire, and .45 cal pistols.

a.Course of Fire.
1)..22 Cal PistoL
a). 5 shots, 25 yard, zero
b). 10 shots, 25 yards, slow fire (10 min)
c). 10 shots, 25 yards, timed fire (2 strings, 5 rounds each, 20 sec/string).
d). 10 shots, 25 yards, rapid fire (2 strings, 5 rounds each, 10 sec/string).
2).Center-Fire PistoL
a). 5 shots, 25 yard, zero
b). 10 shots, 25 yards, slow fire (10 min)
c). 10 shots, 25 yards, timed fire (2 strings, 5 rounds each, 20 sec/string).
d). 10 shots, 25 yards, rapid fire (2 strings, 5 rounds each, 10 sec/string).
3)..45Caliber PistoL
a). 5 shots, 25 yard, zero
b). 10 shots, 25 yards, slow fire (10 min)
c). 10 shots, 25 yards, timed fire (2 strings, 5 rounds each, 20 sec/string).
d). 10 shots, 25 yards, rapid fire (2 strings, 5 rounds each, 10 sec/string).
b.Weapons. .22 cal pistol or revolvers, center-fire pistols or revolvers, and .45 caL pistols or revolvers, as described in NRA rules. The .45 cal. pistol may be also fired in the center-fire competition. State match grade weapons will be available on the range for loan to shooters who do not possess their own weapons.
c.Ammunition. Competitors may provide their own ammunition which meets NRA standards. Issue standard grade .22 and .45 caL ammunition will be available on the range.
d.Targets. The standard American 25 yard timed and rapid target and center will be used for all pistol firing except the slow fire events. The slow fire target will be the NRA approved 50 yard target reduced for firing at 25 yards.
e.Kligibility. Except for members of the state team (including members of 130th and 167th TAG Teams) who have previously won the trophy, any active member of the West Virginia Army or Air National Guard may compete.
f.Uniform. The WVNG Assn Trophy Match is the only match at the WVNG State SmaUarms matches which is not a combat match, therefore the LBE, and Helmet need not be worn. Distinctive headgear and shooting jackets are encouraged during this match, however the wearing of special shooting uniform and gear is limited to vicinity of the range.
