Section 1.257 - Imitation food(a) A label for a product which is an imitation of another food shall bear the word "imitation" immediately preceding the name of the food imitated and in the same size and style of lettering as in that name. Immediately thereafter the word "ingredients" shall appear followed by the names of the ingredients arranged in the order of their predominance.(b) Subsection (a) shall not apply to parts of a carcass which have been so prepared that they resemble an article such as a ham for which a standard is prescribed in Subchapter J (relating to product standards of identity) but which do not meet the requirements of such standard.
