I, J. Kevin Stitt, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, pursuant to the authority vested in me by Sections 1 and 2 of Article VI of the Oklahoma Constitution, hereby direct the appropriate steps be taken to fly all American and Oklahoma flags on State property at half-staff immediately to honor and pay our respects to the U.S. service members and other victims killed in the terrorist attack on August 26, 2021, in Kabul, Afghanistan. Flags should remain lowered until 5:00 p.m. on August 30, 2021. Americans across the nation are united in calling upon God to bring comfort and healing to the victims and their families.
This Executive Order shall be forwarded to the Division of Capital Assets Management, which shall cause the provisions of this Order to be implemented by all appropriate agencies of State government.
