Section 13B .1916 - REHABILITATIVE NURSING AND DECUBITUS CAREEach patient or resident shall be given care to prevent contractures, deformities, and decubiti, including but not limited to:
(1) changing positions of bedfast and chairfast patients or residents every two hours and administering simple preventive care. Documentation of such care and outcome must be included in routine summaries or progress notes;(2) maintaining proper alignment and joint movement to prevent contractures and deformities, which must be documented in routine summaries or progress notes;(3) implementing an individualized bowel and bladder training program except for patients or residents whose records are documented that such training is not effective. A monthly summary for patients and quarterly summaries for domiciliary residents shall be written relative to each patient's or resident's performance in the bowel and bladder training program; and(4) such other services as necessary to meet the needs of the patient.10A N.C.
