The procedure for handling unclaimed security deposits is the same as that for handling unclaimed credit balances of tenants' accounts (see § 1642-4.10 ), except that the unclaimed security deposits shall be kept open for six years before being transferred to the administration fund as a credit to account 3590, Miscellaneous Project Income. Unclaimed security deposit ledger sheets may be segregated in the back of the security deposits ledger.
