Section 1506.8 - Structural requirements
(a) Constructions and parts thereof used for the storage of motor vehicles in a multiple dwelling or upon the premises thereof shall be capable of sustaining safely the loads to which they are subject. The motor vehicle loads on floors, roofs, and ramps shall be those set by the department but in no case shall they be less than a uniformly distributed load of 75 pounds per square foot, or 2,000 pounds concentrated on an area nine inches in diameter, whichever produces the greater stress.
(b) Wherever structural material or assemblies of such construction may, if unprotected, deteriorate and become structurally unsound under the proposed conditions of use, approved protection shall be provided. Causes of such deterioration include, among others, action of freezing and thawing, dampness, wetting and drying, termites and rodents.
(c) Parts of such buildings built in soil which is water bearing at any season of the year shall be constructed so that ground water will not flow into basements and cellars.
