Education and community renewal program and training grant funds may be expended for the salaries and benefits of a program coordinator or other staff directly assigned to the program, reasonable travel expenses for purposes of training, supplies and materials, defraying the reasonable expenses resulting from the use of school facilities by community groups, the operation of an advisory council, minor remodeling of facilities and other such expenditures approved by the commissioner.
