Section 343.4 - Definitions

Unless otherwise defined in this Part, the definitions in the Mental Hygiene Law and those contained in other parts of this Title shall apply. If there is a conflict between definitions contained in this Part with those in other regulations, the word or phrase defined in this Part shall control.

(a) Alcohol awareness program means a program approved by the division which meets the learning objectives established by the division to provide a positive educational experience to youth who have gotten into trouble with the law as a result of alcohol.
(b) Applicant means an entity which applies to the division to become a certified provider of an alcohol awareness program for youth.
(c) Certified provider means an entity which has applied for and has received the approval of the division to establish and provide an alcohol awareness program for youth.
(d) Director means the Director of the Division of Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse.
(e) Division means the Division of Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse.
(f) Prevention education program for youth means a series of activities designed to assist a youth to recognize and eliminate his or her use of alcohol and/or other mind altering substances.
(g) Program means the alcohol awareness program for youth.
