Section 8:34-7.2 - License renewal continuing education credit requirement
(a) As a condition of license renewal identified at 8:34-6.2, each licensed administrator shall successfully complete, before the end of each triennial licensure period, 60 hours of approved continuing education in health or health related courses, seminars or programs relevant to long-term care administration as determined by the Board.
(b) At renewal, a licensed administrator shall attest by signature on the license renewal application that he or she has completed the CEU hours required in (a) above.
(c) Falsification of any information submitted on the renewal application may result in license suspension and/or revocation and/or the imposition of civil penalties.
(d) The continuing education period shall commence on May 1 and end on April 30.
(e) Attendance at meetings of, and/or the performance of service for, professional trade associations and associations of licensed administrators may yield up to 10 hours of continuing education credits every three years.
(f) As a condition of license renewal, each licensee shall complete four CEU hours on the subject of professional ethics relevant to the practice of long-term care administration.
1. Licensees shall obtain these four CEU hours during the triennial renewal period commencing July 1, 2011 and concluding June 30, 2014, and during each triennial licensing renewal period thereafter.
(g) The Board shall permit each licensee to carry over up to 10 excess credit hours obtained during the third year of the triennial licensure period to count toward the licensee's continuing education obligations for the next triennial licensure period.
(h) Notwithstanding the requirement at (d) above, the Department is extending the end of the continuing education requirement for the May 1, 2017 to April 30, 2020 submission cycle until August 31, 2020.
