Section 14:6-1.2 - Definitions

The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. Additional definitions that apply to this chapter can be found at N.J.A.C. 14:3-1.1.

"Distribution system" means mains, services, and equipment that carry or control the supply of natural gas from the point of local supply to and including the outlet of the gas meter.

"Insufficient level of odorant" means a level of odorant that does not comply with 49 CFR § 192.625, which is incorporated herein by reference, as amended and supplemented.

"Interruptible" means a classification of energy service from schedules or contracts under which, a seller is not expressly obligated to deliver specific energy units within a given time period, and that anticipates and permits interruption on short notice, or service under schedules or contracts that expressly or impliedly require installation of equipment to allow use of an alternative fuel.

"Operator qualified" means a person who has met the operator qualifications at 49 CFR Part 192, Subpart N.

"Pipeline" shall have the same meaning as in 49 CFR § 192.3, incorporated herein by reference and as amended and supplemented.

"Prover" means a device used to measure the quantity of natural gas flowing through a gas meter and to determine the accuracy of the gas meter.

"Renewed service line" means a natural gas service line that exists as of February 20, 2007, which is either partially replaced or replaced in its entirety.

"Service line" shall have the same meaning as in 49 CFR § 192.3, incorporated herein by reference and as amended and supplemented.

"Utilization performance" means the performance expected from natural gas appliances supplied with pipeline quality gas.
