Section Saf-C 1308.28 - Step Treads(a) All steps, including the floor line platform, shall have rubber floor covering or a covering equivalent in wear resistance and abrasion resistance to top grade rubber.(b) Each step shall be constructed with cold roll steel of a minimum 24 gauge and ribbed rubber shall be permanently bonded. The ribbed rubber shall have a grooved design that runs at a 90 degree angle to the long dimension of the step tread.(c) The rubber portion of each step tread shall be flexible so that it can be bent around a 1/2 inch mandrel at temperature extremes without breaking or cracking.N.H.
