Section Saf-C 1306.01 - Seating(a) Each pupil shall have a seat and shall not sit in the lap of another pupil, as follows: (1) On each type A, B, C or D school bus, seating shall be provided to allow each pupil to be within the confines of the designed protective compartmentalization; and(2) On each multipurpose passenger vehicle, the number of pupils on a seat shall not exceed the manufacturer's rated capacity.(b) No vehicle shall carry more pupils than its manufacturer's rated capacity, unless an emergency situation arises.(c) For the purposes of (b) above, an emergency situation shall include an accident or mechanical failure as long as every pupil can be seated in a seat.N.H.
