Section 484D.285 - Sworn statement required for exemption

The Director of the Department of Motor Vehicles may issue a permit for an exemption from the provisions of subsection 2 of NRS 484D.440 if the applicant provides to the Director:

1. A sworn statement by:
(a) The treating physician of the applicant attesting that the applicant suffers from a medical condition which requires the placement, installation, affixation or application of transparent material upon the windshield or any side or rear window of the motor vehicle; and
(b) The applicant attesting that he or she is the primary driver of the motor vehicle;
2. A sworn statement by the applicant attesting that the motor vehicle is operated exclusively as an ambulance or hearse, and a copy of the permit issued pursuant to NRS 450B.200 or 450B.210 if the motor vehicle is an ambulance; or
3. A sworn statement by the applicant attesting that the motor vehicle will be used by a federal, state or local law enforcement agency for surveillance, to transport canines, or for undercover or forensic purposes.
