Section 471-16-004 - COMPOUNDED PRESCRIPTIONS

A compounded prescription is a mixture of ingredients which the provider prepares in the pharmacy.

004.01REIMBURSEMENT FOR COMPOUNDED PRESCRIPTIONS. Reimbursement for compounded prescriptions will be limited to those ingredients which are indicated as covered on the Nebraska Point of Purchase System or listed on the Nebraska Medicaid Pharmacy Program website. Any mixture of drugs which results in a commercially available over-the-counter preparation is not considered a compounded prescription.
