Section 180-4-029 - FURTHER RESTRICTIONS ON THE USE OF RESPIRATORY PROTECTION EQUIPMENT

Licensees must comply with restrictions imposed by the Department in addition to the provisions of 180 NAC 4-027, 4-028, and Appendix 4-A as follows.

029.01AS LOW AS REASONABLY ACHIEVABLE (ALARA). Licensees must comply with further restrictions imposed by the Department to ensure that the respiratory protection program of the licensee is adequate to limit doses to individuals from intakes of airborne radioactive materials consistent with maintaining total effective dose equivalent as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).
029.02RELIANCE ON RESPIRATORY PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. Licensees must comply with any limits imposed by the Department on the extent to which a licensee may use respiratory protection equipment instead of process or other engineering controls.
