Rule 18-24-8.12 - Criminal/Illegal ActivitiesA. LIHEAP funds may not be used to pay for any criminal acts punishable with fines, fees, penalties, and/or imprisonment. An application that is submitted for a bill which explicitly states that part of the bill is inclusive of an illegal activity such as tampering and other theft for services shall not be approved until the tampering fees/penalties are paid.B. The energy vendor may adjust the bill to remove the illegal fees and the Subgrantee can pay the portion that does not include such fees and penalties. Further, fees and penalties must be paid prior to any LIHEAP funds being obligated on behalf of the client's bill.18 Miss. Code. R. 24-8.12
