Rule 15-19-60-11.5.12 - Body Piercing Aftercare Instructions

Every client, prior to the piercing procedure beginning, shall be given a printed statement of instructions for care of the piercing. The instructions must be specific for the area pierced, and must contain, at a minimum, the following information:

1. Care and cleaning of the specific area pierced.

2. Information regarding the care and cleaning of the jewelry inserted, including any restrictions.

3. Signs and symptoms of infections.

4. Instructions to consult with a medical professional, if there are signs or symptoms of infection.
