Section 10.44.04.32 - Out-of-State Certification to Prescribe and Administer Medication
A. A dental hygienist holding an active certification or who is otherwise recognized in another state to prescribe and administer medication may be granted recognition to prescribe and administer medication without taking and passing the Board-approved course if the dental hygienist:
(1) Has prescribed medication to at least 100 dental patients within the 2-year period immediately preceding the date of application without complications;
(2) Has administered medication to at least 100 dental patients within the 2-year period immediately preceding the date of application without complications; and
(3) Applies for and receives recognition by the Board as qualified to prescribe and administer medication.
B. The application referred to in §A(3) of this regulation shall include a signed Board-approved affidavit affirming the experience requirements.
C. The experience requirements of §A(1) and (2) of this regulation may not be obtained as an undergraduate dental hygiene student.
