Section V-8513 - Interstate Exchange of DataA. Because cancer patients may be diagnosed or treated in other states, the Louisiana Tumor Registry is authorized to sign agreements with other states to acquire cancer data concerning Louisiana residents and, in return, to provide those states with cancer data relating to their residents. Each signatory state shall agree in writing to follow standard procedures to safeguard patient confidentiality and ensure data security.B. Before the release of any confidential information to other state cancer registries, an interstate data exchange agreement shall be executed by a representative of the other state registry who is authorized to legally obligate the registry and by a representative of the Louisiana State University System.La.
