Section II-608 - ContemptA. Any level of court-martial has the power to punish for contempt "...any person who uses any menacing word sign, or gesture in its presence, or who disturbs its proceedings by any riot or disorder." The punishment for such conduct may not exceed confinement for 30 days or a fine of one hundred dollars ($100) or both. The convening authority approves or disapproves all or part of the sentence, with no further review or appeal. Any confinement will begin when adjudged unless it is deferred, suspended, or disapproved by the convening authority. Any fine adjudged does not become effective until ordered executory by the convening authority. [See LCMJ Article 48 and R.C.M. 809.]La. Admin. Code tit. 41, § II-608
