Section III-1919 - Treatment ProtocolA. In cases where the future medical needs of the patient are so great that multi-disciplinary, long-term acute care is needed by the patient, and the patient and/or the patient's family, tutor, legal guardian or care givers are deemed to be incapable of determining what treatment is necessary, then the fund may retain a case manager to develop a treatment protocol for the patient. The patient, or the person legally responsible for the patient, will be provided with a copy of the written treatment protocol and will be asked to consent to the treatment or course of treatment proposed by the protocol prior to implementation of the protocol.La.
