Section CXXXI-1507 - Educational Leader Certificate Level 2 (EDL 2)A. To receive an EDL 2, the individual must: ... 1. hold or be eligible to hold a EDL 1 certificate, Louisiana provisional principal certification, OSP2, or comparable level out-of-state educational leader certificate;2. have three years of successful teaching experience;3. if applicable, have all out-of-state experience verified as successful by the out-of-state employing authority or SEA;5. meet the standards of effectiveness as an educational leader for three years in accordance with §303 of this Part.B. Renewal Requirements. An EDL 2 is valid for five years initially and may be renewed thereafter for a period of five years at the request of an LEA. For renewal of EDL 2 certificate. Individuals who are employed in a leadership capacity must successfully meet the standards of effectiveness as a leader, in accordance with §103 of this part, for at least three years during the five-year initial or renewal period.
