Rule 875-72.3 - Accommodating the physically disabled

All passenger elevators installed between January 1,1975, and December 31, 1982, which are available and intended for public use shall be usable by the physically disabled. All passenger elevators shall have control buttons with identifying features for the benefit of the blind and shall allow for wheelchair traffic. All passenger elevators and wheelchair lifts installed on or after January 1, 1983, which are accessible to the general public shall comply with Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities ANSI A117.1, sections 407 and 408.
