The definitions contained in ASME A17.1, ASME A18.1, ANSI A117.1, and any other standard adopted herein by reference shall be applicable as used in this chapter to the extent that the definitions do not conflict with the definitions contained in Iowa Code chapter 89A and these rules. However, the definition of "building code" in ASME A17.1 is modified to exclude the Building Construction and Safety Code (NFPA 5000) and the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) for any installation after March 1, 2008.
