Sec. 2.
(a) The LPCC shall assist the ICC in advising the division in the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the following: (1) All infants and toddlers in the state who are eligible for early intervention services are identified, located, and evaluated.(2) An effective method is developed and implemented to determine which children are receiving needed early intervention services, and which children are not receiving needed early intervention services.(b) The LPCC of each county shall be responsible to organize ongoing child find activities in order to identify potential children in the community in need of early intervention services. This child find procedure shall include the opportunity for developmental screening, which is an ongoing effort to separate from the general public, those children who, through informal observation, demonstrate indications of need for further evaluation or assessment.(c) The child find system shall be coordinated with all other major efforts conducted by other state agencies, tribes, and tribal organizations responsible for the administration of various education, health, and social service programs to locate and identify children, including, but not limited to, the following programs: (1) Education of Children with Disabilities program under Part B of the Act.(2) Maternal and Child Health program under Title V of the Social Security Act.(3) Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) program under Title XIX of the Social Security Act.(4) Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act programs.(5) Head Start Act programs.(6) Supplemental Security Income program under Title XVI of the Social Security Act.(7) Children's Nutrition Assistance Act (WIC) program under 42 U.S.C. 1786.(d) The child find system shall be coordinated, to the extent possible, with the following: (2) Medical programs, such as well-baby clinics.(3) Indiana healthy families projects.(5) Community child care organizations.(7) Social service agencies.Division of Family Resources; 470 IAC 3.1-6-2; filed Jan 29, 1996, 5:15 p.m.: 19 IR 1337; filed Mar 9, 1999, 2:05 p.m.: 22 IR 2258; readopted filed Jul 12, 2001, 1:40 p.m.: 24 IR 4235; readopted filed Oct 24, 2007, 11:25 a.m.: 20071121-IR-470070448RFA; readopted filed Aug 23, 2013, 3:36 p.m.: 20130918-IR-470130306RFAReadopted filed 11/13/2019, 11:56 a.m.: 20191211-IR-470190490RFA
