The definitions in Section 202 are amended to read as follows and as noted in Appendix W:
"STRUCTURAL OBSERVATION. The visual observation of the structural system by a registered design professional for general conformance to the approved construction documents.
Structural observation is equivalent to "observation of construction" of the structural system, as defined in Hawaii Administrative Rules chapter 16-115, implementing Hawaii Revised Statutes chapter 464. Structural observation does not include or waive the responsibility for the inspection required by Section 1705 or other sections of this code".
