Section 16-114-13 - Hawaii real estate appraiser advisory committee(a) There shall be a Hawaii real estate appraiser advisory committee consisting of seven members appointed by the director to assist with the implementation of chapter 466K, HRS, and this chapter.(b) Three members of the committee shall be appraisers who have been actively performing appraisal work for a period of not less than five years preceding the date of the member's appointment. Two members of the committee shall have been employed in a position requiring familiarity with loan transactions by a savings and loan, a commercial bank, credit union, thrift, or similar institution for at least five years; and two members shall be public members who shall represent the broad public interest.(c) Except for appraiser members first appointed, appraiser members subsequently appointed shall be state licensed or state certified appraisers holding a current state license or state certificate.(d) Each member of the committee shall serve without pay. However, actual and necessary expenses, including travel expenses incurred in connection with the performance of the member's official duties, shall be paid by the department upon a member's presentation of vouchers approved by the director.(e) The committee shall meet not less than once a year at a time and place determined by the director.(f) Immediately upon the appointment and qualification of the original members, and annually thereafter, the committee shall organize by election of one member as chair and one member as vice chair. In the absence of both the chair and vice chair to preside at a meeting, the members present shall select a chair pro tem.(g) The committee shall keep a record of all its proceedings in accordance with the provisions of chapter 92, HRS.
