Rule 290-2-28-.16 - Qualified Aliens(1) The term "qualified alien" means a qualified alien as defined in Section 431 of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996, as amended, Public Law 104-193.(2) Qualified aliens who arrived in the United States prior to August 22, 1996, if otherwise eligible for assistance under the former Aid to Families with Dependent Children program, shall continue to be eligible for assistance under the Georgia TANF Program upon meeting the same qualifications and conditions as other applicants. Qualified aliens who arrived in the United States on or after August 22, 1996, if otherwise eligible, shall be eligible for TANF assistance until July 1, 1998, unless such period is extended by the Georgia General Assembly.Ga.
