Section 29-143j-46a - Medical advisory board

There shall be a medical advisory board consisting of six physicians, one chiropractor and one doctor of dental surgery, all duly licensed to practice in this state and appointed by the commissioner or such commissioner's authorized representative. The chairman shall be designated by the commissioner or such commissioner's authorized representative. The medical advisory board shall prepare and recommend to the commissioner standards for medical examinations and reports required for a contestant's licensure. The medical advisory board may select and appoint to its consulting staff specialists in their field of medicine whose expert opinion might be needed concerning serious injuries to contestants. Any physician licensed in this state for at least two years may register with the medical advisory board as a physician alongside the combat area at no charge and such registration shall be subject to subsection (b) of section 29-143j-30 a of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies.
