Section 16-11-23 - Meter accuracy(a) Every gas service meter, before being installed for the use of any customer, shall be in good order and shall be adjusted by the gas company or its agents to register correctly within the tolerances herein specified. Tests at a rate of flow of one-fifth or less of rated capacity and at a rate of flow equal to or greater than the rated capacity of the meter are required for this determination. The tests at the two rates of flow shall agree within one per cent and the accuracy of the meter at the lower rate of flow shall be within a tolerance of plus or minus one per cent.(b) Every gas meter removed from service, if practicable, shall be tested for accuracy, at a rate of flow of approximately one-fifth of the rated capacity of the meter, and a record kept of such "as found" tests until the meter is permanently retired from service.(c) At the time the meter is placed in service either the meter index shall be set at zero or the meter index reading shall be recorded.Conn.
