Section 16-11-22 - Meter location(a) Meters may be located inside or outside of a building depending upon local conditions and all meters shall be accessible for reading.(b) When located inside a building, the meter shall be installed as near as practicable to the point of entrance of the service, be in a clean, dry, safe place and be supported in such a manner as to be as free as possible from damage that will render it unsafe or inaccurate.(c) When located outside a building, the meter shall be installed as near as practicable to the building and be supported in such a manner as to be as free as possible from damage that will render it unsafe or inaccurate.
