The following definitions shall apply:
Accessible means that assisted housing units are functional for and can be safely and independently entered and used by persons with disabilities.
Assisted Housing means state and federal public housing, housing supported with public subsidy, and housing assisted with federal funds administered by the state. Assisted housing shall not include subsidies provided directly to households not secured by residential real-estate.
Disabled means:
(a) a person with a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major life activities; or
(b) as otherwise defined in guidelines, instructions, and/or forms developed by DHCD for data collection purposes.
Ethnicity means the appropriate designation, as determined by the household member, of "Hispanic or Latino" or "not Hispanic or Latino" as those terms are defined by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Ethnic Minority means Hispanic or Latino.
Head of Household means the one adult member of the household designated by the household or by the subsidizing agency.
Household Type means:
(a) Single/non-Elderly (one-person household in which the person is not elderly);
(b) Elderly (one or two person household with a person defined as elderly by the applicable program);
(c) Related/Single Parent (a single parent household with a dependent child or children;
(d) Related-Two parent (a two-parent household with a dependent child or children; or
(e) Other (any household not included in 760 CMR 61.03: Household Type (a) through (d), including two or more unrelated individuals).
Income Level means one of the following categories:
(a) at or below 30% of the Area Median Income, adjusted for household size as determined by HUD;
(b) at or below 50% of the Area Median Income, adjusted for household size as determined by HUD;
(c) at or below 80% of the Area Median Income, adjusted for household size as determined by HUD; or
(d) other income levels as directed by DHCD.
Number and Location of Assisted Housing Unit means the physical address of the assisted housing unit and the city or town in which it is located.
Other Funding Contracts means:
(a) Contracts, grants or agreements providing public subsidy; and
(b) Contracts, grants or agreements regarding the sale, rental or management of properties receiving public subsidy.
Public Subsidy means the grant through a state housing program of direct financial assistance or indirect financial assistance through insurance, guarantees, or other means.
Race means the following:
(a) "White";
(b) "Black or African American";
(c) "Asian";
(d) "American Indian or Alaska Native";
(e) "Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander"; or
(f) Other or combination of any of the above
760 CMR 61.03: Race (a) through (e) are subject to the definition of the U.S. Census Bureau.
Racial Minority means a race that is not White alone.
State or Federal Rental Assistance means rental assistance through the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program, the Alternative Housing Voucher Program, the Department of Mental Health Rental Subsidy Program, and the federal Section 8 program.
Subsidizing Agencies means DHCD and any other state instrumentalities, as designated by DHCD, that administer assisted housing or state or federal rental assistance programs.
Tenure means whether the unit is ownership or rental.
Type of Building means whether the unit is detached single family or multi-unit housing.
Type of Housing means housing occupancy designated as: elderly; disabled; elderly/disabled; family; mixed; special needs; or other type as determined by DHCD.
