(1) The purpose of 760 CMR 61.00 is to comply with St. 2006, c. 334 which provides for the gathering, compiling, and reporting of data by the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) to provide current, accurate, and detailed information on the number, location, and residents of assisted housing units and recipients of state or federal rental assistance in the Commonwealth. 760 CMR 61.00 are also intended to ensure that the Commonwealth affirmatively furthers fair housing.(2) The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will use this data to analyze and evaluate applicable housing programs, and to provide information to the legislature and other interested parties.
