Section 78233 - Voluntary Suspension and Reinstatement(a) Any licensee may make a written request to the Department to surrender the license for suspension by the Department for a temporary period not to exceed 12 consecutive months. The Department may approve such request at its discretion.(b) Any license which has been temporarily suspended by the Department pursuant to this section shall remain subject to all renewal requirements of an active license including the payment of license renewal fees, during the period of temporary suspension.(c) Any license suspended pursuant to this section may be reinstated by the Department within 12 months of the date of suspension upon receipt of an application and evidence showing compliance with licensing operational requirements in effect at the time of reinstatement. If the license is not reinstated within the 12-month period, the license shall expire automatically and shall not be subject to reinstatement.Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 22, § 78233
