Section 7 AAC 54.060 - Disclosure of child protection information to a parent of a child
(a) The department will disclose child protection information concerning a child client receiving services, acquired while the child was the subject of a child-in-need-of-aid petition or was a ward of the state, to the parent or guardian upon the parent's request only
(1) when the information has been procured as part of a court-ordered evaluation program;
(2) when the information is necessary to the parent for the parent's participation in court-ordered treatment, if the right of privacy of the child is not infringed;
(3) when the information is necessary to allow the parent to exercise residual parental rights, as provided under AS 47.10.084(c); or
(4) when the court has ordered that the information be disclosed.
(b) The department will disclose child protection information concerning a child client receiving services, acquired while the child was not the subject of a child-in-need-of-aid petition and was not a ward of the state, to the parent, upon the request of the parent, if the right of privacy of the child is not infringed.
(c) Notwithstanding (a) and (b) of this section, confidential information about a child may be released to the child's parent when necessary to protect the safety of the child.
