Section 5 AAC 61.120 - Special provisions and localized additions and exceptions to the seasons, bag, possession, and size limits, and methods and means for Unit 5 of the Susitna River Drainage Area

Unless otherwise specified by an emergency order issued under AS 16.05.060, the following are localized additions and exceptions to the general seasons, bag, possession, and size limits, and methods and means specified in 5 AAC 61.110 and 5 AAC 75 for Unit 5 of the Susitna River Drainage Area:

(1) from September 1 - July 13, in all flowing waters only unbaited, artificial lures may be used;
(2) from May 15 - July 13, in waters open to sport fishing for king salmon, fishing is not allowed from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.;
(3) in the Clear (Chunilna) Creek drainage,
(A) the waters upstream of an ADF&G regulatory marker located approximately two miles from its mouth are closed to sport fishing for king salmon;
(B) after taking and retaining a king salmon 20 inches or greater in length, a person may not sport fish for king salmon on the same day;
(C) in the Fish Creek drainage only one unbaited, single-hook, artificial lure may be used;
(D) in the Fish Creek drainage rainbow/steelhead trout may not be retained or possessed, rainbow/steelhead trout caught must be released immediately and returned to the water unharmed;
(E) the Fish Creek drainage upstream of an ADF&G regulatory marker located approximately one-quarter mile upstream of its confluence with the Talkeetna River is closed to sport fishing for all salmon;
(4) the Larson Creek drainage and all waters:
(A) Within one-quarter mile of the confluence of Larson Creek with the Talkeetna River are closed to sport fishing for king salmon;
(B) upstream of an ADF&G regulatory marker located approximately one-quarter mile upstream of the confluence of Larson Creek with the Talkeetna River are closed to sport fishing for all salmon;
(C) within one-quarter mile of the confluence of Larson Creek with the Talkeetna River are closed to sport fishing from July 1 - August 15 from 11:00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m.;
(5) in the Prairie Creek drainage and all waters within one-quarter mile of its confluence with the Talkeetna River
(A) all waters are closed to sport fishing for king salmon;
(B) only one unbaited, single-hook, artificial lure may be used;
(C) rainbow/steelhead trout may not be retained or possessed; rainbow/steelhead trout caught must be released immediately and returned to the water unharmed;
(D) Arctic grayling may not be retained or possessed; Arctic grayling caught must be released immediately and returned to the water unharmed;
(6) the bag and possession limit for salmon, other than king salmon, is three fish.
