Section 5 AAC 31.243 - Trawl shrimp harvest and reporting requirements in Registration Area E
(a) No more than 40 percent, by weight, of the shrimp brought on board a vessel during a trip may be pink shrimp and no more than five percent may be other pandalid species of shrimp.
(b) Within the 24 hours after the completion of a trip, a CFEC permit holder must report the harvest for the trip, including discards, by species, to the department by telephone at a telephone number specified on the registration form at the time of registration. Discards of pandalid species of shrimp arc reported as deadloss at the time of delivery on an ADF&G fish ticket and will be counted towards the guideline harvest level by section.
(c) The department will issue log sheets and shrimp catch sampling forms that must be completed and returned with each fish ticket to the department office in Homer, Anchorage, or Cordova at the address specified on the log sheet. Log sheets must have entries for each tow, and catch sampling forms must be completed at least once per day in each section fished.
(d) The commissioner may require an onboard observer on a vessel during fishing operations.
(e) The department may require reporting of any other information the commissioner determines is necessary for the conservation and management of the fishery.
