Section 2 AAC 07.375 - Withdrawing a salary step(a) If an employee's work performance becomes less than acceptable, the appointing authority shall evaluate the performance of the employee and provide the employee with a copy of the performance evaluation. If the level of work performance does not become acceptable within a 30-day period, one step in the salary range may be withdrawn effective the first day of the pay period following written notification to the employee of the step withdrawal action and the reasons for the step withdrawal.(b) No more than one salary step in the range may be withdrawn in a merit anniversary year.(c) If an employee's performance becomes acceptable after a step withdrawal action, the salary step may be restored, effective the first day of the pay period following finalization of a performance evaluation report confirming the improved level of performance.
