Section 80-6-708 - Service in National GuardIf a minor is adjudicated under Section 80-6-701, the minor may be given a choice by the juvenile court to serve in the National Guard in lieu of other sanctions described in this part if:
(1) the minor meets the current entrance qualifications for service in the National Guard as determined by a recruiter, whose determination is final;(2) the offense: (a) would be a felony if committed by an adult;(b) is a violation of Title 58, Chapter 37, Utah Controlled Substances Act; or(c) was committed with a weapon; and(3) the juvenile court retains jurisdiction over the minor's case under conditions set by the juvenile court and agreed upon by the recruiter or the unit commander to which the minor is eventually assigned.Added by Chapter 261, 2021 General Session ,§ 185, eff. 9/1/2021.
