Section 78A-10a-102 - Nomination, appointment, and confirmation of judges(1) On and after July 1, 2023, judges for courts of record in this state are nominated, appointed, and confirmed in accordance with this chapter, Section 67-1-2, and Utah Constitution, Article VIII, Section 8.(2) A commission, the governor, the chief justice of the Supreme Court, and the Senate shall nominate and select judges based solely upon consideration of fitness for office without regard to any partisan political consideration.Added by Chapter 250, 2023 General Session ,§ 8, eff. 5/3/2023.
