Section 71A-7-301 - Veterans cemeteries - Development, operation, and maintenance - Responsibilities of Department - Costs(1) The department shall develop, operate, and maintain veterans cemeteries.(2) To help pay the costs of developing, constructing, operating, and maintaining veterans cemeteries, the department may: (a) receive federal funds by following the procedures and requirements of Title 63J, Chapter 5, Federal Funds Procedures Act;(b) receive state funds, contributions from veterans organizations, and other private donations; and(c) charge fees for at least the cost of the burial of a veteran's spouse and any other persons, who the department determines is eligible to be buried in a veterans cemetery established by the state.Renumbered from § 71-7-3 by Chapter 44, 2023 General Session ,§ 47, eff. 5/3/2023.Amended by Chapter 154, 2020 General Session ,§ 75, eff. 5/12/2020.Amended by Chapter 39, 2018 General Session ,§ 32, eff. 5/8/2018.Amended by Chapter 141, 2015 General Session ,§ 5, eff. 7/1/2016.Amended by Chapter 214, 2013 General Session ,§ 17, eff. 7/1/2013.Amended by Chapter 382, 2008 General Session
