Section 63N-3-1407 - Revitalization Zone Committee - Creation - Membership - Staff(1) There is created the Revitalization Zone Committee to review the activities of, and advise a local government and project participants in a project area created under this part.(2) The committee consists of the following members:(a) two members of the Senate, appointed by the president of the Senate;(b) two members of the House of Representatives, appointed by the speaker of the House; and(c) one individual appointed by the governor.(3)(a) The president of the Senate shall designate a member of the Senate appointed under Subsection (2) as cochair of the committee.(b) The speaker of the House of Representatives shall designate a member of the House of Representatives appointed under Subsection (2) as cochair of the committee.(4)(a) A majority of the members of the committee constitutes a quorum.(b) The action of a majority of a quorum constitutes action of the Revitalization Zone Committee.(5) The committee shall meet to review an endorsed application as provided under Section 63N-3-1406.(6) The committee may meet, upon the agreement of both cochairs: (a) to review a report provided under Subsection 63N-3-1408(2);(b) at the discretion of the cochairs; and(c) at the request of a local government.(7) A legislative member of the committee shall be paid salary and expenses in accordance with Section 36-2-2 and Legislative Joint Rules, Title 5, Chapter 3, Legislative Compensation.(8) A member who is not a legislator may not receive compensation or benefits for the member's service, but may receive per diem and travel expenses as allowed in: (b) Section 63A-3-107; and(c) rules made by the Division of Finance according to Sections 63A-3-106 and 63A-3-107.(9) The Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel shall:(a) provide staff support to the committee; and(b) consult with the Office of the Legislative Fiscal Analyst on fiscal issues reviewed by the committee.Added by Chapter 436, 2024 General Session ,§ 8, eff. 5/1/2024.
