Section 63L-9-103 - Director(1) Upon the requirements described in Subsection 63L-9-102(2) being fulfilled, the governor shall, with the advice and consent of the Senate, appoint a director of the Department of Land Management.(2) The director shall: (a) be the executive and administrative head of the Department of Land Management;(b) have demonstrated ability and experience in the administration and management of state or federal lands;(c) not hold any other public office or be involved in a political party or organization; and(d) hire personnel to staff the department.(3) The director shall have:(a) executive authority and control of the Department of Land Management; and(b) authority over all personnel matters.Amended by Chapter 352, 2020 General Session ,§ 67, eff. 5/12/2020.Renumbered from § 72-6-103 and amended by Chapter 451, 2017 General Session ,§ 11, eff. 5/9/2017.Added by Chapter 317, 2016 General Session ,§ 41, eff. 5/10/2016.
