Section 53-10-910 - Reporting requirementThe Department of Public Safety and the Utah Bureau of Forensic Services shall report by July 31 of each year to the Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Interim Committee and the Executive Offices and Criminal Justice Appropriations Subcommittee regarding:
(1) the timelines set for testing all sexual assault kits submitted to the Utah Bureau of Forensic Services as provided in Subsection 53-10-903(2);(2) the goals established in Section 53-10-909;(3) the status of meeting those goals;(4) the number of sexual assault kits that are sent to the Utah Bureau of Forensic Services for testing;(5) the number of restricted kits held by law enforcement;(6) the number of sexual assault kits that are not processed in accordance with the timelines established in this part; and(7) future appropriations requests that will ensure that all DNA cases can be processed according to the timelines established by this part.Renumbered as §53-10-910 by Chapter 430, 2022 General Session ,§ 26, eff. 5/4/2022.Added by Chapter 249, 2017 General Session ,§ 10, eff. 5/9/2017.
