Section 26B-4-708 - Duties of UMECUMEC shall:
(1) seek private and public contributions for the program;(2) determine the method for reimbursing institutions that sponsor health care professionals in training;(3) determine the number and type of positions for health care professionals in training for which program money may be used;(4) distribute program money for graduate medical education in a manner that: (a) prepares postgraduate medical residents, as defined by the accreditation council on graduate medical education, for inpatient, outpatient, hospital, community, and geographically diverse settings;(b) encourages the coordination of interdisciplinary clinical training among health care professionals in training;(c) promotes stable funding for the clinical training of health care professionals in training; and(d) only funds accredited clinical training programs; and(5) advise on the implementation of the program.Renumbered from § 26-69-404 and amended by Chapter 307, 2023 General Session ,§ 161, eff. 5/3/2023.Renumbered from § 53B-24-303 by Chapter 224, 2022 General Session ,§ 9, eff. 7/1/2022.Amended by Chapter 354, 2018 General Session ,§ 1, eff. 5/8/2018.Amended by Chapter 258, 2015 General Session ,§ 57, eff. 5/12/2015.Renumbered from § 63C-8-104 and amended by Chapter 28, 2013 General Session ,§ 7, eff. 5/14/2013.Enacted by Chapter 202, 1997 General Session
