Section 26B-1-102 - DefinitionsAs used in this title:
(1) "Department" means the Department of Health and Human Services created in Section 26B-1-201.(2) "Executive director" means the executive director of the department appointed under Section 26B-1-203.(3) "Local health department" means the same as that term is defined in Section 26A-1-102.(4) "Public health authority" means an agency or authority of the United States, a state, a territory, a political subdivision of a state or territory, an Indian tribe, or a person acting under a grant of authority from or a contract with such an agency, that is responsible for public health matters as part of the agency or authority's official mandate.Amended by Chapter 305, 2023 General Session ,§ 1, eff. 5/3/2023.Amended by Chapter 255, 2022 General Session ,§ 42, eff. 7/1/2022.Added by Chapter 422, 2021 General Session ,§ 3, eff. 3/23/2021.
